Slitting
Slitting
Slitting is a processing technique that cuts wide fabrics or rolled materials into narrower strips along their length or width. It effectively divides large pieces of fabric into smaller, more suitable materials for various applications.
Application:
- Garment Manufacturing: Wide fabrics are cut into strips to create various bands, trims, or fabric strips for clothing, facilitating subsequent sewing or decoration.
- Home Textiles: Slitting technology is commonly used in the production of large home textiles such as bed sheets, curtains, and sofa covers, where large pieces of fabric are cut into suitable sizes.
- Technical Textiles: Slitting machines are used in the production of precision-slit technical textiles, such as filter cloth, medical fabrics, and industrial textiles.
- Packaging Materials: Many non-woven or woven fabrics used in the packaging industry undergo slitting processes to produce materials of specific widths, which are then used for packaging products or making bags and other packaging items.
